Our program includes lessons on all gymnastic apparatus modified to the special needs of the younger child. Gross motor coordination is developed through the use of balance beams, mini trampolines, bars, rings, tunnels, spring boards and tumbling mats. Hand eye coordination is developed by attempting activities such as bean bag tosses, hoops to spin and catch, balls to throw, catch and roll. Cooperative group activities are included in our curriculum to foster an awareness of others and to encourage sharing, taking turns and developing concentration skills.
We offer the following Gymstart classes:

The Pre-Levels Program is a step up from the beginners program and provides an introduction for children approximately 6 years and older. Emphasis is placed on dominant movement patterns used in gymnastics and all apparatus will be used during the term. This program is designed to prepare children for the ACT Club Levels Program (our General Stream).
Our General Stream consists of:
The National Stream program is a competitive program. Each year children are selected to become members of this program and most of the gymnasts are selected from the General Stream. The National Stream program is available for boys and girls.
This program is a developmental program for younger gymnasts that show natural potential for the sport. If invited into the program parents will receive a full information pack about the program.
We offer a gymnastics program that is delivered on-site in Canberra primary schools by our qualified coaches.
The principal aim of a gymnastics program in primary schools is to develop in children an enthusiasm for physical activity and to maintain and encourage that enthusiasm so they become committed to pursuing an active lifestyle. The program aims to teach fundamental movement abilities. Many of the skills required for team and individual sports (hitting, catching, jumping, turning, dodging, fielding, and marking) can develop from the fundamental movement abilities emphasised in our program.
Most programs run for the 10-week term but can be modified to suit the needs of individual schools.
Our School Holiday Program is for all girls and boys aged 3 and over, regardless of experience or ability. The children will be challenged by learning new and exciting gymnastics skills, as well as games and interesting group activities in our fully equipped, purpose designed training centre. Just bring your own drink bottle and have fun!
Positions are limited and bookings are essential. Payment is required upon booking. No refunds are available.
